    The Chinese Language and Literature major of the School of Media and Communication of Qingdao University of Science and Technology was formally established in 2011. It has enrolled ten students and has formed its own characteristics in the direction of creative writing and international Chinese education. Relying on a first-level master's program in drama, film and television, a master's program in publishing, and a master's program in creative writing in the field of MFA, it can recruit graduate students and jointly organize Chinese-American Children's Literature with the School of Applied Social Sciences of Dominica University. , Libraries, Information and Information Science majoring master-doctoral program. There are three research institutions: Children's Literature Innovation and Research Center, He Culture Research Institute, and Laoshan Culture Research Center.


    There are 2 professors, 5 associate professors, 4 lecturers, including 6 doctoral degree holders, 7 master tutors, 1 joint PhD supervisor, 1 member of the Chinese Writers Association, 2 members of the Chinese Editors’ Association, and Chinese Children’s Literature There are 4 members of the research society, and 1 expert from the “famous teachers sending teachers” from the Organization Department of Shandong Provincial Party Committee. Among them, the long fairy tale "Brundiba" written by Professor Liu Yaohui won the Bingxin Children's Book Award, and the long-length juvenile growth novel "Wild Cloud Boat" won the 2020 "My Favorite Children's Book" nomination award.


    This major has now signed an internship practice base construction agreement with famous cultural communication and education media companies in Qingdao and Shandong Province, as well as some well-known primary and secondary schools in Qingdao. It has signed agreements with Dominica University in the United States, Hamburg University in Germany, Central University in South Korea, Macau University of Science and Technology, National Taiwan University and other institutions have signed student exchange visit agreements, which can provide students with diversified options for internships and visits.


    The overall postgraduate entrance examination rate of Chinese language and literature majors is close to 40%. Most of them go to prestigious domestic universities for further study. Among the graduates, most of them are admitted to civil servants, selected students, teachers and editors at all levels. The main job destinations are government agencies, education, publishing, the media and other industries.
