The animation major of QUST was formally started the recruitment from 2007, and it was one of the earliest universities in Shandong Province that set the animation major. Now our college animation undergraduate major and Sino-British cooperation (with the University of Bradford in the UK) animation major. The major directions are mainly divided into two-dimensional animation, three-dimensional animation, game design, etc.

This major has an excellent teaching team. There are 22 teachers, including 2 professors, 5 associate professors, 3 postdoctoral fellows, and 8 doctors. In recent years, animation teachers have hosted 2 national social science projects, more than 20 provincial and ministerial scientific researches, teaching and research projects, published 12 monographs and textbooks, and published 13 core papers such as CSSCI. In addition, the animation major also specially employed Yu Peixia, president of the Chinese Animation Society, as the artistic director of the "Big Horn Bull" animation studio, and employed more than 10 famous domestic and foreign experts such as David Eric, the vice president of the International Animation Association, as visiting professors and participate teaching activity.

For many years, our animation major has focused on Sino-foreign cooperation, school-enterprise cooperation and collaborative education, and the quality of talent training are excellent. It has become an important training base for animation talents in Shandong. At present, it has established cooperative alliances with 30 universities in more than 20 countries around the world. At the same time, it has cooperated with CCTV, Shanghai Film Studio, Hunan Satellite TV, Xiaomi, SF, Tencent, Byte Dance, Dison Animation and other companies to jointly conduct project production and establish internship bases. The works of animation teachers and students have won the "Five One Project Award", the third prize of the Golden Dragon Award, the Monkey Award, the Golden Eagle Award, and the Golden Rooster Award for Best Art Film Nomination, Taishan Art Award, Seoul Animation Festival Jury Special Award, Niigata, Japan Animation Festival Winner Award, American San Jose Design Art Festival Gold Award and other domestic and foreign awards.
